A Gallbladder Workout

The gallbladder works very closely with the liver, also ruled by the Wood element. The gallbladder stores the bile which is produced by the liver. When the energy stagnates, gallstones get formed and, if not eliminated, can cause excruciating pain. The gallbladder is an organ which balances liver functions, and is also affected by our emotions.

Balancing Gallbladder Energy

This palm builds the strength of the gallbladder. The arms are held out at a 45-degree angle, palms facing down. Keep your shoulders relaxed but firm.

It is specially used for regulating the gall bladder meridian. If the Yin and Yang of the gall bladder are not balanced, expect the following symptoms: bitter taste in mouth, dry mouth or oral ulcers.

Direction: An equal number of steps in each direction (clockwise and anti-clockwise).

Breathing: Inhale when moving anti-clockwise. Exhale when moving clockwise.

Recommended Number of Steps: A minimum of 100 in each direction (with a total of 200 steps).

Excessive Gallbladder Energy

The gallbladder is the correspondent organ of the liver. This palm works similarly with the liver palm. It is a method dedicated to venting toxic dampness. Symptoms: gallstones, common bile duct stones, common bile duct tumors, bile duct cancer, and other diseases. These diseases all require the elimination of bile poison.

Both arms are held to the side of the body, palms facing backwards. Both arms are straight, relaxed and firmly holding the posture (see image below).

Direction: Clockwise.

Breathing: Exhale with every step.

Recommended Number of Steps: A minimum of 100.

Deficient Gallbladder Energy

The Gallbladder is the correspondent organ of the liver. This palm works similarly with the liver palm.

Symptoms: lack of courage, heart palpitations, fear of things, easily frightened, cholecystitis, cholangitis and indigestion caused by consuming fish or meat.

The arms are stretched out to the sides, shoulder-level, palms facing down. Posture is relaxed but firm (see image below).

Direction: Anti-Clockwise.

Breathing: Inhale with every step.

Recommended Number of Steps: A minimum of 100.
